Another quick and easy Pennsy conversion. I came across an un-dec Walthers model and liked the unusual prototype. I knew that PRR had operated this engine so I gave it a good home. When I started examining the prototype through photographs I discovered that Walthers had, effectively, produced a Fairbanks Morse H11-44! Walthers model has a mixture of grille positions, some of which match the H10-44 and some of which match the H12-44.

At this point I decided not to even worry about this curious anomaly, chose a PRR prototype, altered the front handrails a little and gave the model Pennsy livery! There are limits to this type of modelling and, lets face it, life is too short. (I must admit that the Roco designed mechanism is a winner. A great little engine to have about that will pull a lot more than you think.)
